How MySkillsProfile collects, uses, protects, retains and provides access to information connected with SportsConfidence and the SPQ20 assessment service.
Protecting assessment information
SportsConfidence presents MySkillsProfile’s SPQ20 Sport Personality Questionnaire. MySkillsProfile is committed to protecting information provided by users. We do not sell, rent or trade personal or customer information collected through our sites.
MySkillsProfile provides behavioural-style self-assessments and 360-degree feedback surveys through its online assessment platform.
Three categories of user
Individual users
People who complete an assessment and pay for the results themselves. They receive limited direct access to their results and do not have an account login.
Corporate account administrators
People who manage an organisation’s assessment account and invite groups or individuals to complete assessments. An administrator may be an employee, consultant or other authorised representative. Administrator email accounts may be accessible to more than one authorised person within the client organisation.
Corporate users
Test-takers invited by an administrator to complete assessments available through the organisation’s account. Clients may also use the optional white-label service to add their organisation’s name and logo to screens and reports.
The data used by the service
- Core personal data: name and email address.
- Additional personal data: information required by particular assessments, such as management level or a 360-degree assessor’s relationship to the participant.
- Research data: optional biographical or demographic information, such as age, gender or country, used to support research.
- Assessment-item data: responses given to assessment questions.
- Results data: scores produced by automated assessment processes.
Why personal data is collected
- An administrator’s email enables test-takers to ask questions, report technical problems and request feedback.
- A test-taker’s email is used to send access information, deliver feedback reports and provide completion or report support.
- A test-taker’s name is used to personalise the feedback report and relevant communications.
Collection, retention and anonymisation
Individual users normally provide required personal information at the end of a self-assessment. For corporate users, an administrator may supply personal information when issuing an individual invitation, or the test-taker may provide it when using a group login. For 360-degree feedback, assessor details may be supplied by the participant or administrator.
120-day rule: identifying personal data is automatically anonymised 120 days after an assessment is completed. Feedback reports are dynamically generated and remain available for only 120 days from completion.
MySkillsProfile may retain non-identifying additional, research, assessment and results data for research and development, including updating norms and publishing evidence about assessment quality.
Who can see reports and assessment data
Individual users
During the 120-day availability period, the feedback report is accessible to the test-taker and authorised MySkillsProfile staff. Staff access reports when users request report delivery or support with their results.
Corporate users
Authorised MySkillsProfile staff can access data needed to provide the service. The client administrator controls access to corporate-user feedback reports and decides how and when results are released.
Where a client requests services such as group reporting or training-needs analysis, relevant detailed data may be provided to the authorised administrator.
Data-protection rights
Assessment and profiling are governed by applicable national and regional law and informed by professional guidance. Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, where applicable, individuals have rights that may include being informed, accessing personal data and requesting correction or erasure.
Client organisations are responsible for ensuring their use of assessment and profiling complies with applicable law and for responding appropriately to participant rights. MySkillsProfile does not control or monitor the purposes for which clients use assessment information and is not responsible for a client’s own privacy practices.
